MICHIGAN MTA

Founded in 1885, the Michigan Music Teachers Association promotes and encourages the understanding, appreciation, and study of the art of music.

Members include independent music studio teachers, college and university faculty, professional musicians, collegiate students, and associate members.

Membership includes teacher and studio resources, professional development, performance and presentation opportunities, festivals and competitions, musician collaboration, and more.

Local Associations

Michigan MTA Local Associations provide opportunities for music educators to actively engage with their communities across Michigan.

MMTA’s diverse membership includes independent music teachers, college and university faculty, and students, all dedicated to excellence in music education and professional development at the local level.

Student Achievement Testing

The MMTA assessment is designed to inspire musical growth and excellence by providing a structured and comprehensive assessment to both challenge and celebrate student progress and excellence. Ultimately, the MMTA goal is to foster a lifelong relationship with the art of music study and performance.
